It is truly a lovely time of the year when we all come together to celebrate Vaisakhi. For us at Diverse Little Colours, this season brings back wonderful memories of all the events we have shared with you.
Because Vaisakhi falls around the same time as Easter, it naturally becomes a double celebration for our community. In the past, we have taken a blended approach to both festivals—and our residents have absolutely loved it. Picture this: Easter-themed crafts, delicious Easter chocolates, and the energy of Bollywood dance all in one room. It definitely was enjoyable (for us and for them!).
A Season of Connection
This year, we were thrilled to take things a step further by introducing intergenerational events at local care homes. Having children, parents, staff, and residents laugh, dance, and create together was nothing short of magical. Both staff and residents loved the energy and warmth these sessions brought.
We have been quite busy lately, but that’s exactly how we like it. We hope to offer as many workshops as we possibly can—because these events are always very special to our heart.
Easter Weekend Highlights
Over the Easter weekend alone, we were able to run three special events at three different care homes. The feedback was simply amazing. Hearing residents tap their feet, seeing staff members let go of their stress for an hour, and watching families bond through music and movement—it reminded us why we do what we do.
I am so glad we have been able to offer these events for residents and staff alike.
A Heartfelt Thank You
We want to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to everyone who makes this possible:
Our supporters – you believe in us.
Our wonderful volunteers – you show up with heart.
Our staff – you bring the energy and silly jokes every single time.
The children and their parents – you support us and grow with us.
All the residents – you enjoy our work and keep calling us back for more. That means the world.
The wonderful care home staff – you laugh at our silly jokes and keep inviting us back.
Our lovely funders – without you, none of this would be possible.
Looking Ahead with Hope
We hope this energy carries on spreading the joy. Our wish is that people feel energised, connected, and inspired—whether that means dancing in their chairs, tapping along to a Bhangra beat, or simply smiling a little more.
May we all carry on doing exercises and dancing on our chairs for many years to come.
With love, colour, and community,The Diverse Little Colours Team
